Music Monday - Alternative 90s Playlist

As promised, music hits, of an alternative nature, of the 1990s. This playlist has a few deleted videos, due to copyright etc. But it still gives a good idea of what was some of the tops songs during the late, great 90s.

Music Monday - Al Bowlly Over!

I love to time trip with music. Recently, I discovered a gentleman named Al Bowlly, and I thought, now that's a fun name. So I gave his music a listen and just had a good listening party for one. Well, I thought to myself, I thought, parties are a lot more fun when there's more than one. So, that's what we're going to do tonight, have a good old-fashioned early 20th Century high time!

I Built a Boat!

Okay. I didn't really build a boat -- I'd like to, again, and I have done (way back in the day), but I did have fun with some projects that I will probably put up in my new shop once I get everything ready to get it started. As you might guess, it's going to have a nautical theme. I already lean that way as it is, nauti that is, I might as well go all the way and be absolutely nautical!

Anyway, here are the things that I've been playing around with lately. The first two are simply origami, with my own personal touch of hand coloring and naming the little boats with silly, and/or witty (I think) names and the final three are all freehand cutout pictures, with the middlemost of the last three also containing two different origami boats using two-tone paper.

I hope you're having a lovely evening, or whatever time of the day it may be where you are. I think I'm going to work on some more nauti things. ;-)

Cherish...Our Mothers

From kissing our boo-boos away to the greatest advice we might ever receive, moms are the true wonder women of the world. They keep the peace, serve tasty meals better than any restaurant could ever dream up -- unless a mother just happens to be running one that is -- and they never ever let their husbands forget they're men.

Sometimes things get a little chaotic and sometimes things run as smooth as a glassy sea on a summer morning, but one thing's for certain, whether it's putting out a kitchen fire or even building a fire, from my perspective -- you moms out there are hot!

And so, today, on your special day, I hope your families remember just how much you do for them, because in this life we only get one mother and she deserves our respect.

Now, don't think I've forgotten about adopted moms! Talk about a cool blessing! Not only one mom, but two!

God bless all of you wonderful, witty, talented, and gritty moms out there! And, to my own mom -- Thank You!!! Don't worry! I still remember what you taught me.

[I'd like to add a little something here for those whose relationship with your moms may be strained or even very pained. If you truly feel that you have nothing to be grateful to your mother for just keep in mind that she did give you life. That, in my opinion, is the greatest gift of all. Bless her at least for that. Peace be with you!]
